Hi all-

I was wondering whether anybody here has a list of the names of the soldiers interred within the French cemetery at Zeitenlick, Greece. I have the name of a casualty that was killed in Florina, Greece and would like to know where he is interred. Any help would be greatly appreciated, best

Dimitri

Hi Dimitri,

I do not have a list, but I'm planning to go to the cemetery in the next few days - whenever work allows - so I can have a look for you.

There is a register of names in the French chapel, but the chapel is kept locked so I will have to find the warden to get the keys. If he's not there, then it might be difficult.

What is the name of your casualty? I have photographed a fair number of French graves - I may have him already, although it is a slim chance. I have perhaps 200 photos, and there are over 8000 French and Colonial soldiers buried there!

Alternatively, and if you speak French or Greek, you could try emailing the French consulate here. I understand they also keep a list. The address is Thessalonique.consulfranceATdiplomatie.gouv.fr (replace AT with @).

Regards,

Adrian
