Sgt John Crane was awarded his DCM in Dec 1914 for action at Festubert. We have his citation and other documents but no medals. he was also awarded the 1914 Star, Victory and British medal. He served with the Royal Munster Fusiliers and was killed in action in 1916. Any information regarding this matter gratefully received. We have no knowledge as to their whereabouts at all. His service number was 9152. He served alongside F. Eccles who also received a DCM at Festubert. We believe he survived the war so any info on him would be great.

Julie.

Have you tried the medal tracker on the OMRS website?

How about the medal tracker in the magazine 'Medal News'?

Have you contacted the regimental museum in case it has been donated to them?

A DCM & 14 Star trio to the Royal Munster Fusiliers is highly desirable and I think if you are lucky enough to trace it, it may take quite a bit of cash to buy it back!
