kin47 Posted 28 April , 2007 Share Posted 28 April , 2007 Hello Going through the casualty dbase, I was surprised to find the high number of naval ratings serving under an alias (3 to 4 times more than WW II naval personnel). Does anyone know or have a theory why this was so much more common during the Great War? Thank you in advance. All best don

historydavid Posted 28 April , 2007 Share Posted 28 April , 2007 Hello Don, as well as avoiding: 1 the police, 2 the wife, 3 the girl pushing a pram, 4 a humdrum life style and being able to start a new life without concern for past responsibilities. Best wishes David
