Hve been given a medal to research by work colleague of my Wife. It is a BWM to;

Eng. S. Lt. T H Thurburn RNR

I guess that he was an Engineer in the Royal Naval Reserve, but this is outside my comfort zone of knowledge. Any RNR experts out there?

Welcome to the wet bit!

There should be a summery of his service in ADM 240 and a service card for him in ADM 340. He might also have service documents in ADM 340 - both of the latter are in alphabetical order. The service card might give his last pre war and first pre war merchant navy jobs.

Sub Lieutenant RNR = Lieutenant army
