I'll never forget when she tapped him on the knee with her crutch.

Thanks everyone, for your comments.

Ive been in France for a week so I didn't get chance to reply until now.

Glyn if you scroll down the main war art page you will find another veteran I have drawn, Alfred Anderson, and on page 3 Harry Patch.

Regards

Chris

Chris

Yep, I'd seen them and also found them first class - just wondered if you had any more.

Cheers

Hello Chris,

Thanks for posting your portrait of Arthur Barraclough 1898-2004, you've really captured his character. Which Battalion of the Duke Wellington's Regiment did he serve with in the Great War.

Hi Glyn & Ron,

Glyn, I don't have any new ones at present, I tend to draw when I get the inspiration and then post them straight away.

Ron, Arthur served in both the 1/4 and 2/4 Territorial Battalions Duke of Wellingtons if my memory serve's me well.

Thanks

Chris

absolutely brilliant work. What media do you use? Looks like soft graphite pencil to me but can't tell clearly.

Hi Gunboat,

Thank you very much,

I tend to start with a F pencil for the basic sketch, and then anything from 4B up to 9B for the detail,

I always try to buy Derwent Graphic pencils as I think they are of good quality.

I also from time to time use Charcoal and chalk.

Regards

Chris

Superb drawing Chris.

Captured his "spirit" wonderfully.

What a gent.
