I read in "With a Machine Gun to Cambrai" of a Machine Gun Corps Convalescence Home in the NE of England. Anyone got any info or pointers on that one ?

David is correct it was at Alnwick Camp, which on the departure of the Tyneside Scottish seems to have become a hospital for wounded of 149th Brigade/50th Division as many Northumberland Territorials were sent there to recover. For some unknown reason the Territorials seem to have been shipped over to the Lancashire area and Alnwick Camp handed over to control of the M.G.C., but when I couldn't say. The Alnwick Gazette still functions as a newspaper and their old copies still remain, so it may be worth contacting them for further information.

Graham.
