Martin Bennitt Posted 20 April , 2007 Share Posted 20 April , 2007 Found myself in Quarry Cemetery, near Montauban, yesterday and the following grave attracted my attention: Airman 2nd Class REGINALD ALFRED HOBBS 7396, 3rd Sqdn., Royal Flying Corps who died age 16 on 29 August 1916 Son of Robert and Bessie Hobbs, of 296, Fore St., Upper Edmonton, London. Paul Reed in 'Walking the Somme' suggests he was probably killed while liaising between the artillery and British spotter aircraft, but was wondering if anyone knew anything more about him and his death, given his tender age. thanks and cheers Martin B

Thanks Tim. Sad, but at that age he should not have been allowed to be there in the first place. cheers Martin B
