stan Posted 9 April , 2007 Share Posted 9 April , 2007 Slightly outside our time frame but what the heck - he had been there!
Adrian Roberts Posted 10 April , 2007 Share Posted 10 April , 2007 stan - thanks, great stuff. I don't somehow think that would be allowed these days. Notice his landing is a "dead-stick" one as well. But knowing Udet he was probably coked-up and/or p***** at the time. I've just been on theaerodrome.com and someone has just posted this Youtube link of Manfred von Richthofen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ck-IFow3LIM Someone points out that the captured British pilot Lt Bird said later that he was none too pleased about being paraded as a trophy, and someone else pointed out that he should be grateful he was a live trophy, unlike 85 other men who encountered MvR professionally. Andrew Hesketh Posted 10 April , 2007 Share Posted 10 April , 2007 Fascinating footage. He really could fling an aircraft around couldn't he?
