Does anyone know if the 22nd Pioneer Battalion Durham Light Infantry has any war diaries. If so, does anyone have a copy or know where i can get hold of them.

The NA reference is:

WO 95/1702 22 Battalion Durham Light Infantry (Pioneers) 1916 June - 1918 July

after it was absorbed into the 1/7th DLI in July 1918 it will be in:

WO 95/1702 7 Battalion Durham Light Infantry (Pioneers) 1918 July - 1919 May

(which is the same box!)

Steve.

Phil,

If you live in the North East of England, you'll find a copy of WO95/1702 in the Search Room at the Durham Record Office, County Hall, Durham, which runs to fifty-eight pages. I deposited the copy with the DRO at the beginning of 2004 along with copies of war diaries for thirteen other DLI battalions [including 1/7 Battalion, from July 1918], all of which the DRO had bound in four or five volumes.
