nhclark Posted 4 April , 2007 Share Posted 4 April , 2007 Has anyone seen one of these before? If so, what is/was it and did it date from WW1? The photograph has been sent to me by a distant rellie in Wales. She describes the "handkerchief" thus: "Square piece of cloth approx 14" - cream coloured (don't think its dirt). 4 central circles with the faces of King George V, King Albert of Belgium, The Czar of Russia and President Poincare of France. Around each image are the music score and words to the relevant National Anthem, and underneath that is the Coat of Arms. The whole thing is printed (not embroidered)." SFayers Posted 4 April , 2007 Share Posted 4 April , 2007 Hi Noel, Haven't seen one myself before, but could well be a patriotic First World War souvenir (possibly produced in bulk if printed) given the national flags and country leaders present. cheers Steve
