Hans Christain Donhauser was commissioned as a Leutnant in the Reichswehr after the Armistice, and was stationed at Koblenz, where his duty was to fly German aircraft before they were handed over to the Allies under the terms of the Armistice. The US authorities were worried about machines destined for handover being sabotaged, and they therefore insisted that they be test flown by a German pilot. Unfortunately, Ltn Donhauser was killed in 1919 while testing a Fokker D.VII. I haven't seen the date of the accident.

Regards

Gareth

I don't know if you've seen this, but there's a link here to the VDK, which is the German War Graves Agency. I hope you find what you're looking for.

I just checked the VdK register and Hans Christian Donhauser is not listed. There are four Hans Donhauser entries, all WW2.

The direct link to the VdK is: http://www.volksbund.de/
