At the end of the article it repeats the so often made overstatement of American deaths as 116000, true from all causes but just over 50000 combat related.

Thanks for posting this. There is one left in Kentucky Robley Rex, 105 I think and quite healthy, volunteers at the Louisville VA Hospital.

To be fair, the article does quote the following:

53,402: Americans killed in action

63,114: Americans died of disease and other causes
