Does any one have any info on this lad who rests in the Lyness Royal Naval Cemetery please - all I have to go on is the CWGC info - any info also appreciated on the vessel

Chris,

MACPHERSON, RODERICK M., TY/SURGEON PROBATIONER, RNVR, NARWHAL, died 26-Dec-17, ILLNESS.

HM Destroyer NARWHAL, M class 1,025 average tons displacement, launched 3/12/15, broken up in 1920 after broke back in collision in 1919.

Chris,

Dittmar and Colledge give an HMS NARWHAL, Destroyer M class 1915 in 12th Destroyer Squadron, HMT NARVAL , trawler. It is not in the list of shore bases either ( least not in my one) .

HMS NARWHAL in WW2 was a Porpoise class submarine.
