D Company, The 15th (Service) Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment

Awarded: Croix De Guerre

Died: 22 April 1918

Commemorated: Le Grand Hasard cemetery, Morbecque, France

His award of the French Croix De Guerre, was the only one awarded to a Private in the whole of the battalion, details of this unique award were published in the London Gazette on the 30th of April 1918, 8 days after his death. 21
