russgray7 Posted 26 March , 2007 Share Posted 26 March , 2007 Hi all, I have on my wall 'The King's Message to the Royal Air Force' and written on the top is 'MEMBER. HAYNES. E. 3079.' Has anyone any idea who this may be, I have searched the National Archives for a MIC but to no avail. Also he is not listed in the London Gazette as far as I can tell. Many thanks, Russ
per ardua per mare per terram Posted 26 March , 2007 Share Posted 26 March , 2007 The online MICs are for the army, the RAF MICs have not been released to the public yet and if he got a pair, that would be an RAF issue and then his MIC is not available. If he was an other rank you could try AIR 78 at Kew; if he was an officer try the Army List or AIR 76.
russgray7 Posted 27 March , 2007 Author Share Posted 27 March , 2007 Thanks for that, This also may explain why I cannot get any information on 2nd Lt. J A Watson Bourne (RFC). I have his log book but cannot get any further info on him at all. Russ
mickdavis Posted 30 March , 2007 Share Posted 30 March , 2007 Might he not be a she? Other Ranks of the WRAF were known as Members.
