Remembered Today:

HMS Cornwallis and HMS Theseus

A relative served on board these ships:

Cornwallis, 21st December 1914 to 9th August 1916; and Theseus, 10th August 1916 to 27th April 1918.

Is there somewhere where I could find a summary of Cornwallis' and Theseus' activities during these periods? Naturally I've tried using Google but I have not come up with (or perhaps I've missed?) anything really authoritative or detailed.

Thank you,

Noel

CORNWALLIS - 6th Battle Squadron Channel Patrol 1914; to Mediterranean Fleet and Gallipoli campaign/Dardanelles Jan 1915; Torpedoed and sunk by U32 off Malta 9 Jan 1917.

Originally in the 10th Cruiser Squadron, enforcing the northern blockade, THESEUS was at Gallipoli in August 1915 and in the Mediterranean until 1916 when she came home and was sent to the White Sea. In 1918 she was a depot ship in the Aegean.

I am sure others can add more detail.
