Just prior to the First World War was the Coastguard Station at Gorey, being administered at one time from Newhaven, the Gorey in Southern Ireland or the one on Jersey.

Any help in this much appreciated.

Hello Colin8

The coastline of Hampshire, Sussex and Kent, from the Isle of Wight to Dover came under the NEWHAVEN DISTRICT, so it seems likely that Jersey is the one your after.
