Help with ID of German soldier from family photos

I posted this in a different section but it was suggested to try here for a better response.

I know nothing of his service,which unit and for how long and only know that he died between 1916 and 1918- most likely of pneumonia.It was suggested that he was a Vizefeldwebel in a Mecklenburg infantry regiment but those would both be things that I didn't know previously.It would be incredible to even have something close to a more positive ID of unit and time.
