A Sapper in Mesopotamia - a man and his machine

This is a photograph of 223038 Spr Bertie George EMM (or EMMS). We know he was in, at one time, D Coy Party 321 at Brompton Barracks, RE, Chatham and that he was at Kirkuk but we have no details of Field Coy, Division or Corps. Please, does the photograph ring any bells with experts on Mesopotamia?

Apologies, thanks
