Rory Reynolds Posted 11 March , 2007 Share Posted 11 March , 2007 Hello all I have the service record to a Henry James Lamb, R.N. number L10929. He enlisted as a Boy Servant (thanks Per Adua) on 21 February 1918 and the following details his movements during what remained of the war. He was invalided out of the service on 4 May 1921. Vivid I 21 Feb 1918 - 2 July 1918 Roxburgh 3 July 1918 - 10 April 1919 My question is - was all of the above shore service? I have a British War Medal to him and was wondering if this was his sole entitlement. It would be, I should think, if he never went into action. Could someone clarify this for me please. Regards Rory

per ardua per mare per terram Posted 11 March , 2007 Share Posted 11 March , 2007 She was still an active ship, not a shore base. Campaign medals were not awarded for going into action, just for bring in the war zone. Sounds like you have a broken pair there.
