Character and Ability assessments

In the character and ability assessment columns of a naval record what does

"C & E" mean in the column between normal annual assessments

Also what does "T only" or "Time only" mean

Any help appreciated

Colin,

In 1925 it changed from 'Character and Ability' to 'Character and Efficiency' hence C & E.

THnaks I can see how that works with the dates on the records now.

Any chance you know the "T only" or "Time Only" one as well

Can you post the entry, Im not sure what contex it is in. 'Time only' would suggest he was fined x days pay but only lost the time for service/pension.

One record I have , although a bit early for this forum I know, has it on a few times and is the best example

so I hope it attaches Ok for you to have a look at ( although I cannot see where it is now I hope it appears for you)
