MelPack Posted 10 March , 2007 Share Posted 10 March , 2007 Hello Steve Home service (including Ireland) did not qualify the individual for campaign medals. The only way that your man would have a MIC, when there was no service overseas, would be if he qualified for the Silver War Badge upon discharge from sevice because of wounds or sickness. Coldstreamer Posted 10 March , 2007 Share Posted 10 March , 2007 Not entirely correct (but 99.999999%) -there are odd exceptions. Some of the medal index cards for the coldstream guards detail issue of the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in the mid 1930's.

stevenbecker Posted 10 March , 2007 Author Share Posted 10 March , 2007 Mates, Thanks I didn't think of that of cause becaue he didn't serve overseas with the British Army he didn't qualify for any medals, hence no card. His three medals with the AIF were withdrawn because of his dismissal. Cheers S.B
