Thanks for sharing this Drew. What an amazing man Claude must be, and what a charmed life - one of the most dangerous jobs you can think of - 2 wars - and still able to dance! :)

It's almost impossible to imagine the grief he must have felt after losing his soul-mate of 80 years.

At risk of a tangent and a hijack, can anyone throw any light on an RFC veteran called Sandy Young living in Australia?

I found a reference to his 107th birthday recently, but any info on him was lost in a tangent spipnning off from the source.

(by the way, Claude was very interesting in "The Last Tommy" - he was obviously very much full of beans still)

I saw Claude Choules at the Rememberance Day services at Fremantle in 2005 and he looked well then but I hadn't heard anything of him for a while so was glad to see the article in the paper last week.
