Royal Navy veteran just turned 106

Here'a a link to an article in the West Australian Newspaper from March 2nd about Claude Choules which may be of interest.

Choules, who moved to Western Australia in the 1920's has just turned 106 and served with the Royal Navy in WW1.

Thanks for sharing this Drew. What an amazing man Claude must be, and what a charmed life - one of the most dangerous jobs you can think of - 2 wars - and still able to dance!

It's almost impossible to imagine the grief he must have felt after losing his soul-mate of 80 years.

At risk of a tangent and a hijack, can anyone throw any light on an RFC veteran called Sandy Young living in Australia?

I found a reference to his 107th birthday recently, but any info on him was lost in a tangent spipnning off from the source.

I saw Claude Choules at the Rememberance Day services at Fremantle in 2005 and he looked well then but I hadn't heard anything of him for a while so was glad to see the article in the paper last week.
