Hello Ady,

I realise that we Pongos all look the same to you Webfoots, but Micahel Tallon was in the Royal Irish Rifles not Regiment.

Can you post the MIC?

It could be that no next of kin were found and so the medals were returned to the Madal Office from the Issuing Office. They would be kept for ten years then destroyed.

He died of wounds.

Ady,

Got the MIC from you, thanks.

The entry is Retd. (KR 992 of 1922 or 23) 8362. It is after both entries, the BW&VM and 15 Star.

Without checking the relevany KRs (I'll have a look at Kew next time) I'd say that noone was found to issue them to and so they went back to the medal office to be destroyed after 10 years.

Cheers

Hugh
