hzibell Posted 24 February , 2007 Share Posted 24 February , 2007 Where do I find photos of Torpedo Boat No 7 in 1914 or any information? Was it known by another name? I think she was stationed in Kent at HMS Actaeon. Any help appreciated. Heather

The following link may give the answer:- http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~p...ats_etc/TB.html Look at the Thorneycroft boats, showing that TB No.7 was originally named HMS GLOWWORM. She appears also under GLOWWORM at:- http://www.battleships-cruisers.co.uk/torpedo_boats.htm I think that is correct but someone will soon let us know if not. per ardua per mare per terram Posted 25 February , 2007 Share Posted 25 February , 2007 TBs were small fast surface boats armed with torpedoes; in WW2 the German Eboats were similar, whilst the British the called them Motor Torpedo Boats.
