Donnie, do we have anything more to go on than this ?

Which part of the country was he from, any ships he may have served on, did he survive the war, etc ?

There must be something remotely connected, for example your interest in him came from ... ?

Well the story goes,

He served during ww1 as a sailor.

After the war, i have no idea what he did.

Then at the outbrake of ww2 he went to Sandhurst and became an officer in the RAOC, he went to north africa and was MID for distinguished service.

I am interested because an old man and life long friend who served with him in North Africa gave me his medals.

BWM

VICTORY MEDAL

39-45 STAR

NORTH AFRICA STAR

DEFENSE

WAR+ MID EMBLEM

He told me a few tales from the war, but nothing on his career

He finished his career as a LT/COL in 1955

Thats a lot more to be searching with. Probably easier to search from 1955 backwards for this one.

I am about to finish work so will look in to this posting later this evening. Hopefully you will have some answers by then, if not, I will see if I can 'dig up' anything of use.

Good luck.
