Soren Posted 22 February , 2007 Author Share Posted 22 February , 2007 and another Lovely piece of work Soren. Cheers Paul, I think the tonal washes go quite well with my line.... Just playing around with my new pencil, maybe I need to get out more!
SiegeGunner Posted 22 February , 2007 Share Posted 22 February , 2007 I think the tonal washes go quite well with my line.... Glad you said that, Soren — it's what I thought when I saw the first one, but I didn't know how to put it. Just playing around with my new pencil, maybe I need to get out more! Is that 'get out more pencils' or 'get out and about more'? Mick

Dan Morton Posted 23 February , 2007 Share Posted 23 February , 2007 These are very nice indeed, Soren! I think I like your ink washes better than your "normal" technique. I particularly like some of the faces in these two. Interesting how you imply so many features of the face with so few actual lines. All the best, Dan

Soren Posted 23 February , 2007 Author Share Posted 23 February , 2007 One of my idols is Edward Ardizzone, a WW2 war artist, you can see his war diary here: http://www.iwm.org.uk/upload/package/9/ard.../&book1.htm his line and wash technique is fab! Steven Broomfield Posted 25 February , 2007 Share Posted 25 February , 2007 One of my idols is Edward Ardizzone, Oh yes! Have you ever seen the book "The Otterbury Incident"? He did the illustrations - really excellent drawings for what was essentially a kids' book.
Ozzie Posted 25 February , 2007 Share Posted 25 February , 2007 I tend to agree, Soren, I like the extra mood that the wash invokes. Cheer Kim
