midgemeg Posted 19 February , 2007 Share Posted 19 February , 2007 This man was on the ship from Jan 1915 until September 915. Between June and end of August the REWA made a round trip to Gallipoli. I would like any information on him , either during the war or pre and postwar
horatio2 Posted 19 February , 2007 Share Posted 19 February , 2007 The RNVR/RNR/RNAS Officers' pay and appointing ledgers at the Fleet Air Arm Museum should have quite a lot of detail on him. See under "Naval Records in Manuscript Ledgers" at:- http://www.fleetairarm.com/pages/research/archivep1.htm

I shall contact the Fleet Air Arm Museum and see what they have. The search at TNA did not reveal any papers but I may have more success at the museum. I will post a reply if I get a result Fairhaven

Not only was Arthur Brailey drowned -the boat was chartered to Commadore H.D.King who had been the Commander of Drake battalion during WW1. Is it possible to explain what you need to research "The Times" as you did to obtain this information for me! Fairhaven
domwalsh Posted 21 February , 2007 Share Posted 21 February , 2007 I work for The Times! Otherwise you could visit Guildhall Library in London or ask your local library about how to get access. Best regards, Dom
