What does HS stand for?

My G Uncle, Pte John W Bones 23158, was a RAMC Hospital Storesman.

His MIC has 'H.S.' in the column for Theatre of War first served in. (The date below is 22.12.15) I know that he served on HMHS Britannic (which came into service in Dec. 1915), so could the H.S. stand for 'Hospital Ship'? or 'Hospital Storesman'?
