Coldstreamer Posted 31 January , 2007 Share Posted 31 January , 2007 List LG looks to me like a SWB (silver war badge) reference - if so he was discharged through wounds or an illness/accident
hayley Posted 3 February , 2007 Author Share Posted 3 February , 2007 anu clues as to where william was from 1914-16?
jay dubaya Posted 4 February , 2007 Share Posted 4 February , 2007 Hi Hayley, I can only pesume that William was part of the 301st Coy Royal Engineers between 1914-1916 and possibly stationed on home soil. I haven't been able to find out any info on the 301st Coy, maybe the Royal Engineers Museum can help you find more about Williams wartime service. I will keep a look-out and keep you informed of anything that I find, and please keep us infomed here on the forum. I wish you lots of luck in your family quest, all the best for now, cheers, Jon
