i am trying to find out what battalion a frank finan was in the rangers . his service number was 11216. he transferred to the rangers on the 22 december 1916 in london . i have his service record from kew and it does not state what battalion he was in or were he was stationed. i have been in touch with the rangers museum.

Pol, was he in another regiment before the Rangers?

Did you try looking up his Medal Card on the National Archives Website?

If the medal card does not show the battalion he served in, the Connacht Rangers Medal Roll at Kew almost certainly will.

he transferred from the irish guards to the rangers at london district 91399 and service number was 11216
