Ray Tomlinson Posted 22 January , 2007 Share Posted 22 January , 2007 ..... and the one third from the right is called "Rev. something". Apart from him and Rover, the others appear to be wearing spurs. Getting there - slowly.

delta Posted 23 January , 2007 Share Posted 23 January , 2007 All joking aside (and I guffawed at harters' quick response) I think the picture could be pre-Great War TA officers at their annual camp (judging from the background); possibly yeomanry from their age and cut of the breeeches the officer centre left seems to a Lt Col; old pattern service dress the right hand (much bemedaled) officer, wearing grenade collar dogs and carrying a large crop, could be a Granadier (single buttons and wearing his sword frog but no scabbard)
bigronhartley Posted 23 January , 2007 Share Posted 23 January , 2007 Hello, How about Royal Artillery or Royal Engineers ? There appears to be a scroll under the cap badge (extreme left) so possibly the former. Just a thought. Regards Ron
Ken Lees Posted 23 January , 2007 Share Posted 23 January , 2007 Any chance of a higher resolution scan of the badges?
uxbull Posted 23 January , 2007 Share Posted 23 January , 2007 Real long shot, the backdrop could be Halton Park, 1914? Seems similar to some photo's I have, but then again, bell tents, trees..................hmmm
