Remembered Today:

Couin

Rose Coombs "Before Endeavours Fade" features a photo of a brick wall in Couin, with a 1916 painted sign pointing to a water refilling point. I have a vague recollection os someone telling me the wall had been demolished some years ago. Could anyone confirm?

No, it's still there. The village have "adopted" it and regularly repaint it!

The wall that was demolished, which I believe you are thinking of, was International Corner near Poperinghe.
