Fleur Posted 28 November , 2003 Share Posted 28 November , 2003 I have just done a little poster print run for a chap from the university who has written a play about the trenches and it has been picked up by some students who are putting on a production of in early December. http://www.oxfordplayhouse.com/BurtonTaylor/ http://www.playscripts.com If anyone is about then please support him and the Burton Taylor Theatre He is a really nice chap (I have been recruiting for the forum too, so perhaps he will find his way here in the near future). He has also worked, in the past, in this project http://www.oucs.ox.ac.uk/ltg/projects/jtap/ Most material is in the archive where there are film clips (1916 and present day), interviews with vets, pictures (from the war and taken by the project group) Fleur 'your Country needs you' the recruiter
Dragon Posted 28 November , 2003 Share Posted 28 November , 2003 Fleur, what's the play? Is it The Ghosts May Laugh? Can we see the poster please? Gwyn
Fleur Posted 28 November , 2003 Author Share Posted 28 November , 2003 I'll see if I can get a decent scan of it! Turns out this guy also teaches about First World War poetry (and Old-e english-e too!!!) He has his own webpages http://users.ox.ac.uk/~stuart/ Yeah, the play is Ghosts May Laugh. Give me a little while and I'll see what the scans come out like of the poster. Fleur

Fleur Posted 28 November , 2003 Author Share Posted 28 November , 2003 Here is a copy of the poster - dunno how it's gunna look. Apparently one of the evenings has sold out - I was thinking about going to the Sat afternoon show so that I could go and have a snifter round at far from the madding crowd after .... Maybe I'll give the box office a call and ask which night's gone already Fleur
