Broznitsky Posted 27 November , 2003 Share Posted 27 November , 2003 I noticed when looking at the GH Smith & Son website (investigating the trench maps they have on offer; thanks Catherine ) that there are a bunch of magazines called Gunfire edited by Dr. A.J. Peacock. Can anybody comment on these journals and their merit? http://www.ghsmith.com/worldwar1/ Peter
CROONAERT Posted 27 November , 2003 Share Posted 27 November , 2003 I found them excellent and very in depth on occasion. Some well researched articles on some of the less covered aspects of the war can be found in them (some that come to mind are the use and abuse of drugs (medicinal and recreational) in the Great War and a couple of "alternative" guides to the Western Front covering some of the less visited areas). I may be wrong, but I think that they were the magazine of one of the Yorkshire branches of the WFA. (I continued purchasing "Gunfire" long after I quit subscribing to the WFA, I rated them that highly) Dave.
