Black Watch Posted 13 January , 2007 Share Posted 13 January , 2007 Pte, Thomas Dawes. From info given it appears he served in Oxford and Bucks, then was transferred to The Queens Regiment. He was entitled to the British War Medal and Victory Medal. As there is no mentions of a Star it is unlikely he entered theatre of war until 1916 or later. Chris_Baker Posted 13 January , 2007 Share Posted 13 January , 2007 E/1/101 B24 page 4793 is a coded reference to a volume of the roll of the British War and Victory Medals. Look it up: it is very likely to give you the battalions of the two regiments with which he served. The roll is not available online. You have to go to the National Archives at Kew to see it.
