mcmanusruth Posted 5 January , 2007 Share Posted 5 January , 2007 Having read a previous post about a hospital in Blackrock, Co. Dublin (in fact more than one) perhaps some of you would know where I could start in looking for hospitals used / established during WWI for combatants / convalescents? Would many soldiers have been shipped home to Ireland following injury? I'd like to get a fix on the size of involvement by nurses etc in Ireland at this time, apart from those who served overseas. Thanks for any suggestions. Ruth
Sue Light Posted 5 January , 2007 Share Posted 5 January , 2007 Ruth I've got a list of hospitals in Ireland that were run under the auspices of the British Red Cross Society - there are about 18 of them, although it's quite an early list, 1916 I think, so not accurate to the end of the war. If you send me an email, I'll send the two images back as an attachment. Sue
