AndyHollinger Posted 26 November , 2003 Posted 26 November , 2003 Okay, I give. It's been 30 years since I was a student who boasted once to be able to name all the foot and horse regiments between 1716 and 1746. (Not that it impressed ANYONE) I was reading the incredible help you all (in Texan) y'all gave the woman doing research on the Spanish Civil War vet (and you all were too politie to say many of the volunteers made up a more glorious past) but the rank of the person in question was CSM and y'all talked as if it were a commissioned rank. Please tell me the secret. I understand RSM as Regt Sgt Major ... but CSM escapes me ... and none of these would have been considered "Commissioned" ... I, know, I know, such a neophete ...
Terry_Egalton Posted 26 November , 2003 Posted 26 November , 2003 Company Sergeant Major. Regards Terry
Greenwoodman Posted 26 November , 2003 Posted 26 November , 2003 Not sure if there's a page with it all on, but there was an interesting archive thread on it all here:- RSM Hope it answers most of your queries.
AndyHollinger Posted 26 November , 2003 Author Posted 26 November , 2003 Thanks guys ... I guess the disconnect came from the US Army calls these men Company First Sgts .... and they are definitely NCOs and they'll tell you that every chance they get ... and as a 2nd Lt, they held my attention whenever they spoke! Thanks
