I am aware that Easter is a "moveable feast", but can anyone tell me the date of Easter Monday 1916 please? Request is related to German operations at Verdun.

many thanks

Do you mean 1916 or 1917 - heading says 1917 and message says 1916?

Easter Monday 1917 was I believe, 9/4/1917 - the opening day of the Battle of Arras.

Canadians will of course recognize Easter Monday 1917 as the beginning of the Corps success at Vimy Ridge. It was on the 9th April.

Easter Monday in 1916 was on the 24th.

Apologies guys, stupid boy trouble. I did mean 1916 and many thanks for those who replied. As usual very greatly obliged to the memory banks out there.
