Remembered Today:

Ceci n'est pas un Halberstadt CV !

I thought members might like to see my painting (oil on board 70 X 50 cms). It is an hommage to the only complete Halberstadt CV in the world and the Belgian Surrealist tradition. With apologies to Rene Magritte.

Happy new year to everyone

thank you for your comments Uncle Bill.

To be honest this is the first time I have shown any of my paintings and I was a bit reticent to do so this time.

Very good indeed. Have you painted other WW1 related subjects ?

I have done some sketches using pastels based on old photographs but they reside with my son in the uk.

Next time I am back in Blighty I will photograph them and display them in this forum.

Mike

Great painting, let's see some more of your work.

Perhaps the Magritte painting with the floating loaves (whose name I forget), but with Zeppelins instead?

Magritte also did works called The Battle of the Argonne and the Great War, which I would post but can't cos I'm at work.

cheers Martin B
