Help with medal card entry

guessing, Dup = Duplicated issue or duplication issued. looks to be for a SWB Silver War Badge, presumably injured.

possibly Deleted for the other.

maybe some one issued a SWB then decided he didnt deserve it??

Hi, thanks for the reply, so if I go to Kew and look at the medal rolls it will tell me if it was a SWB?, someone else has said that it might be duplicate medals for his RAF service. Would the roll entry confirm this either way also?

Sorry for so many questions.

Hello,

There is no mention of a SWB on the card.

Simply he was recorded on two rolls for the 1914/1915 Star, and the duplicate entry: - RFC/10c etc, was deleted.

His RAF papers should be here: -

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalog...;accessmethod=0

AIR 79/1498 166001 - 166097

The medal rolls will tell you which battalion(s) of the Norfolk Regiment he served with abroad.

Regards

Hugh
