I would like to find out any information on HMS Whitby Abbey. My uncle was serving on this ship when he died in October 1918. Any information would be appreciated.

Whitby Abbey was a screw ( as opposed to paddle) minesweeper of 1188 tons launched 1908 armed with 2 x 2pdr guns. Requisitioned 10/2/1915. She had the pennant No M35 in February 1915, changed to T09 in September 1915, changed to T90 in January 1918. She was returned to her owners on 23/12/1919.

Served with the Auxilliary Patrol.
