Grangemouth Scotland

Does anybody know which regiment a new recruit would usually join if he lived in Grangemouth Scotland?

If no particular regiment, was there a regiment in which men from Grangemouth can be found in larger numbers than in any other regiments?

The local infantry regiment would be the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders (Argylls),

Definitely A&SH, Philip. There was a 51st Highland Volunteers A&SH TA company there, certainly in recent years. We should be able to pin it down to a particular Territorial battalion at the time of WW1 and there's a map in our office that might help

Grangemouth was in Stirlingshire which was in the recruiting area of 7th A&SH for the Territorials
