Michael Posted 21 November , 2003 Posted 21 November , 2003 Army Orders are often quoted in the forum. Where do the members find these orders ? Michael
Glosters Posted 21 November , 2003 Posted 21 November , 2003 I have a set from Jan. 1914 to Dec. 1919 (missing a couple of months). I would guess that the National Army Museum and British Library would have a complete set? Steve

Michael Posted 21 November , 2003 Author Posted 21 November , 2003 Thanks guys The PRO sounds good (I can almost hear that camera whirring). How many pages are we talking about ? Michael
Ivor Lee Posted 22 November , 2003 Posted 22 November , 2003 Michael The PRO references for Army Orders from 1914 to 1924 are WO 123/56 to WO 123/64. I have included up tp 1924 as you will find that a few of the Army Ordrs issued from 1920 onwards refer to WW1. Regarding the number of pages - it is a lot! One problem is that you may find that in addition to Army Orders you may also want to look at Army Council Instructions (ACIs). These give the detailed information/instructions and were, in effect, working documents. The PRO references for 1914 to 1919 are WO 293/1 to WO 293/10. Now you are really talking about a lot of pages!
