theflyer Posted 9 December , 2006 Share Posted 9 December , 2006 Hi I like to build models of aircraft that have a story to the particular model that i'm making. The next one i intend to make is the Be2c flown by WLF on the night he won his VC. What i am trying to find out is if he had modified his aircraft in any way.I have been told that he had covered the front cockpit over ?. Also what weapons he would have had fitted. Thanks for any info Ken

Adrian Roberts Posted 10 December , 2006 Share Posted 10 December , 2006 Ken Another pic of Robinson's BE2c - I don't think its him in the cockpit though. The gun is a standard Lewis (edited - standard for aircraft use ie minus the water-jacket) I trust forum member LowNslow won't mind me recommending his website www.biggles-biplane.com which has a section on Robinson. Presumably your model will be scratchbuilt. Flying or Static? Adrian

LowNslow Posted 15 December , 2006 Share Posted 15 December , 2006 Thanks Adrian for mentioning www.biggles-biplane.com ! I note both 'theflyer' and 'coldstreamer' are based in Peterborough. Assuming that's not the one in Ontario, you're not a million miles from Sywell where we're rebuilding the BE replica. If you want to come across and take a look at progress and compare historical notes, drop me a p.m. It'll cost you a beer in the Aviator bar afterwards most likely!
