Remembered Today:

Shell shock at sea or in the naval services

Can anyone tell us of specific individuals in the Royal Navy, Royal Naval Reserve or Merchant Marine of the British Empire who suffered in part at least shell shock during or immediately after the war?

I am really interested in the seafarers rather than say the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS) or the RFC.

I know of several instances where merchant mariners refused to board a ship due to fear of subs.

Thanks,

John
