John Gilinsky Posted 5 December , 2006 Share Posted 5 December , 2006 I know of Sullivan's 1919 history of war time aviaiton in Canada which is pretty good. However it doesn't really go into much details/history of the Royal Flying Corps Canada training squadrons etc...which were stationed there and elsewhwere during 1917 - 1918. Does anyone know of the RFC Canada training squadrons who have histories? Does anyone know of the RFC Canada training squadrons that went to Texas specifically and who have histories etc...? Where are the war diaries and primary official records of these RFC Canada units(in UK Kew, RAF Musuem?)? What AMERICAN records exist nationally or locally (say in Fort Worth, Texas or the state archive of Texas etc...for these RFC Canada units and their work)? Thanks! John Gilinsky Posted 8 December , 2006 Author Share Posted 8 December , 2006 Here are some places to start your research! http://www.airpower.maxwell.af.mil/airchro.../win04/cox.html https://www.airforcehistory.hq.af.mil/Publi...authorindex.htm Cannot access (hopefully not permanent) the second web site but the first article is a good summary of the standard official histories on this USA training 1917-1918. Thanks so much for drawing out attention to these. John

John Gilinsky Posted 17 December , 2006 Author Share Posted 17 December , 2006 Fort Worth Texas has 11 CWGC gravestones and burial plots for ww1 RFC personnel buried now in Greenwood Cemetery. As well a contemporary spring 1918 monument has also been maintained and a photo will be found of these graves on the memorial on the CWGC cemetery search db.
