Malcolm Posted 1 December , 2006 Share Posted 1 December , 2006 HMS SNOWDROP 1200 tons launched 7th October 1915 at McMillan, Azealea type of Flower Class Fleet sweeping Sloop, armed with 2 x 4.7 inch, 2 x 3 pounders AA, sold 15th March 1923 Unity ship building company. HMS SEA FAY was a hired yacht of 162 tons launched 1902, pendant No 039 armed with 2 x 6 pounders , requisitioned 16th September 1914 to 3rd February 1919. historydavid Posted 4 December , 2006 Share Posted 4 December , 2006 Hello Tom, some info on the sinking of the Adamton: SS Adamton, collier requisitioned by the Admiralty, built 1904, 2,304 grt, captured 8th April 1916 by German submarine U 22 in position 56.33N, 07.19W, then shelled and sunk 15 miles N from Skerryvore, Atlantic Ocean. Booth, Vice Chairman of the Burnham Urban Council, has received a commission as Sub- Lieut. in the Royal Naval Reserve, and has been appointed to the 'Sea Fay' a yacht of 200 tons which has been lent to the Admiralty by Mr. Lambert.
