Having a bit of a tidy up I have discovered, under my bookcase, a 1907 pattern bayonet with no maker, is this usual? it also has an ER cypher but dated 12/1914. Embarrased to say I cant even remember seeing it before let alone buying it. it must have been a purchase i immediately hid from my wife and forgot about.

Hello Mick,

All P1907s will have a makers name on the left ricasso. Unfortunatelly, due to the great numbers produced, not all are clearly stamped. As you mention that you cannot see a makers name, I'll assume that your item was manufactured by Enfield whose stamping was: EFD. Other munufacturers were: Rermington (USA), Wilkinson (also used: Wilkinson Pall Mall & WSC), Sanderson, Chapman ( also used the stamping: JAC), Mole, Vickers, Lithgow (Australia) (also used: MA, SA, MO), RFI (India).
