Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 18 November , 2003 Share Posted 18 November , 2003 You have got to ake a look at eBay item 2204410589. I can understand someone making up a full entitlement with replicas and erased originals but trying to sell what amounts to 2 original LS medals for £5,000 Reminds me of the saying 'Cromwell's Dagger'. David_Bluestein Posted 18 November , 2003 Share Posted 18 November , 2003 Would be a nice one to own, however for the price? No way! My father owned the MM(GVI) and complete medal entitlement to Sgt G H Eardley who was awarded his VC for actions in N W Europe in 1944. (We attached a copy VC to the set) HOWEVER it came to our attention that Mr. Eardley, then still alive apparently had another complete set of his medal entitlement! He must have kept the VC and sold the rest and applied then for a replacement? My father immediately 'moved' the group along, as owning a quasi VC group is one thing, but owning one of two (partial) groups is not great.
